The Taste Of Respect

In the beginning, there was this passion for olives. For a generous fruit which offers so many flavours and benefits that it merits the greatest respect. As do those who produce it. For over 30 years, Père Olive has been perpetuating this quest for the highest quality and the best producers.

Today, this approach has made Père Olive one of the European leaders in the processing and marketing of fresh olives and Mediterranean products.

Eric and Christine Maes found BEMA SPRL and start selling olives in punnets. The authentic taste of the south which characterises them soon becomes a success and after two years, they move to a workshop covering 400 m².
Along with the Gembloux University Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, they develop the first packaged olives without oil or brine. The ‘fresh olives’ concept is born.
The company Père Olive is established and starts exporting to the Netherlands.
Père Olive fresh olives become increasingly popular. The brand moves to new premises in Seilles covering 900 m².
The new range of spreads is launched.
Père Olive inaugurates its new buildings, again in Seilles, now covering 22,000 m².
Père Olive expands its assortment to organic options! Green nature olives are the first to obtain the organic label. We extended the range with our garlic olives, our olives with cheese and our Kalamon with parsley.
The Menissez family joins Père Olive and becomes the majority shareholder.
Père Olive is integrated into the Labeyrie Fine Foods group, with which it shares a passion for authentic products and quality. Today, 100,000 punnets leave Seilles every day, en route to around fifteen countries (Europe, Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, etc.).
As we seek to stay loyal to our values and to respect the authenticity and the diversity of Mediterranean flavors, we launched 3 olives “selection”. These recipes were carefully elaborated and cooked, to obtain surprising and delicious olives, directly inspired from Italian, Lebanese and Greek cuisine.
Two hummus are added to the organic assortment: nature and spicy hummus.
Père Olive renews its visual and brand identity. Launch of a new range: cheese for the aperitif.
